The B.A (Hons) Accounting and Finance course provides an approach that combines the need for factual knowledge to meet professional body requirements, conceptual understanding to deal with future developments, and personal skills e.g. communication and team working skills, designed to equip graduates for a life-long career. In dealing with enterprises of all sizes it recognises both national and international aspects of accounting and related subjects.

This course provides exemption in ACCA papers F1, F2, F3, F4, F5, F6, F7, F8, and F9.

This course also provides exemptions from ICAEW papers for full certificate level and two papers at professional level (Business Strategy and Financial Management).


Course Objectives

This programme has been designed to meet the following aims:

  1. Be able to construct and analyse financial statements using a range of techniques and appropriate e-tools in order to critically appraise their value in decision making
  2. Critically appraise current developments in accounting and finance including evaluating contemporary theories and empirical evidence within the context of contrasting global business contexts
  3. Recognize the contribution of accounting and finance to a diverse range of enterprises and society as a whole and be capable of contributing to accounting and finance research using appropriate data and methodologies
  4. Be able to engage in the workplace as an ethical professional with the essential graduate attributes of enterprise, digital literacy and global outlook.
