OVERALL COURSE OBJECTIVES

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  1. Understand the components comprising the Android Platform and be able to use various tools found in the Android Development Environment
  2. Understand the Basic components from which all Android applications are created. The Activity class - one of the main class responsible for displaying an application's user interface.
  3. Understand the Intent class and Permissions and also the Fragment class - another key class responsible for displaying an application's user interface.
  4. Summarizing and demonstrating the many class Android provides for creating user interfaces.
  5. How to handle concurrency with Threads, Async Task & Handlers.
  6. Using User Notifications to interact with the user, listening for and responding to events using the Broadcast Receiver class.
  7. Understanding a number of technologies related to presenting and interacting with dynamic content.
  8. Understanding the many sensors that now come standard on most mobile devices.
